Hon. Evelyn M. Daly | Probate Judge

 

Judge Daly took office at The Farmington Probate Court on January 1, 2007.  Judge Daly has been an attorney for over 25 years and is licensed to practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts as well as Federal District Court 1st Circuit.  She began her law career at the Boston law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart.  After marrying a Connecticutite she moved to Connecticut and became Senior Counsel for Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company. Prior to becoming Farmington’s Judge of Probate Evelyn served at Connecticut's State Capitol as Counsel to the House of Representatives.

Judge Daly is an adjunct Professor of political science at Central Connecticut State University.  She has been a docent at The Hill-Stead Museum for 14 years where she specializes in school group tours.  Evelyn is also involved in many charitable groups and civic organizations.

Judge Daly resides in Farmington with her Husband Michael and their 14-year-old son Mac.

 

 

Evan C. Brunetti, Esq. | Chief Clerk

 

Evan has been working with the Probate Court from 2007 through 2009 as a law clerk, and since 2010 as the Chief Clerk.  Evan continues to be a lifelong resident of Connecticut with his wife Michelle. 

 

In 2006, Evan graduated from Gordon College with Bachelors degree in Political Studies and Biblical/Theological Studies where he studied in Jerusalem, Israel for summer semester.  In 2009, Evan graduated from Western New England Collage School of Law where he completed multiple legal clinics and/or practicums relevant to Real Estate, Federal Courts, and Estate Planning.  Since 2009, Evan has been an attorney licensed to practice law in Connecticut.  Evan was also formerly an associate attorney with the Law Offices Of Cecilia Buck-Taylor in New Milford Connecticut practicing mostly in the areas of Probate and family matters. 

 

 

Helen R. Bunnell | Clerk

 

 

Helen has worked in the Probate Court system for over 12 years.  She joined the FarmingtonBurlington district in the spring of 2010.  From 2007 -2010, she served as the Clerk of the Burlington Court under Judge Bauer.  Prior to working in Burlington, she was the Judge in the Litchfield District Court for 8 years.  Helen continues to work in the Probate Court System because she finds that working in the court allows her to help people through some of the most difficult and happiest times of their lives.

 

In addition to her work in the Probate Court, she works for the Friends of Main Street in Winsted, CT promoting Historic Preservation and Economic Development. 

 

Helen lives in Litchfield with her husband Rick on their family farm.  She has four children; Nick, Joe, Kirby and Coleby.  Most of her spare time is spent with her children and their activities however she still finds time to knit, read, sell pumpkins, and dream about selling ice cream!! 

 

 

Lynn E. Kapitan | Assistant Probate Clerk

 

Lynn Kapitan, Assistant Clerk, has been an employee with the Farmington Probate Court for over 10 years.  She earned an Associate in Art degree with Norwalk Community College.  Her previous work experience consisted of working as a teacher’s aid and also as an assistant secretary to a local school system.  Lynn has 3 children.  Various outside interests include dancing, with a special interest in country music/line dancing and summer/fall country fairs.

 

 

 

 

Beth A. Burns | Assistant Probate Clerk

 

 

 

 

Beth joined the Farmington-Burlington Probate Court in November 2007 and moved to Connecticut from Arlington, Massachusetts.  She now resides in Bristol with her husband, Tim, and daughter, Quinn.  Tim works as a landscape manager for Walgren-Bartlett Tree in West Hartford, CT.  Quinn is now in Kindergarten and attending St. Joseph’s school in Bristol.  Beth is an avid golfer and is President of the Women’s Golf League in Farmington and plays with her team the “Pink Tees.”
